It is about a middle-aged man I met a few years ago.
I was introduced to him by his daughter because they were searching for something to help him.
He is an extremely kind man who has such a great smile and has the most caring heart. But he suffers from a very severe mental illness.
At the time I met him, he was searching high and low for something to give him back his life.
When I went to meet with him, oil box in hand, I was thinking to myself, how the heck am I going to help this man?! I knew how powerful the oils were for me but I had never dealt with something as severe as he did on a daily basis.
So I simply shared with them what I knew. And that was oils. I shared my experiences. My family’s experiences. My friends’ experiences. I was honest with him when he asked questions.
And I provided possible solutions for him.
He smelled the oils as I spoke. Never really saying too much.
As we sipped some chamomile tea, I showed them how they could get the oils into their home and shared with them what option I thought was best for them. They were excited to sign up and I was so happy to be able to support them on this new journey.
I started to pack up to head home and he graciously offered to walk me to my car since it was late at night by this point. We walked to the car and he shared something with me that still brings tears to my eyes.
He said, “Kelly...I have to tell you something.”
I looked at him concerned and replied, “ok, what is it?”
I will never forget what he said next.
“I want to thank you, because I finally feel like I have hope again.”
I was speechless. This man I had just met, who is around my father’s age, was just so vulnerable with me. And I had helped him.
This is it people. This is why.
I am in the business of helping and I know that whatever trials you may be going through, I want to help you too.
